The nearby and the far away.  They each bring value to the other. One without the other - and you will be lost. Both - and you have a right perspective. As true in life, so too in death.

Sometimes the yellow "do not pass" lines really mean "slow down and enjoy the beauty that surrounds." Are you frustrated by life's yellow lines? Focus less on the far end of your journey; see the beauty that surrounds your present.

Cemeteries hold silent the shadowed deeds of the dead. Each timeworn tombstone testifies of a beginning and end.  Cemeteries, however, rather than markers of the dead, are reminders of life lived. The dates carved into the monument are less important than that which lies between. 'Tis the dash that is best remembered.

Sometimes the journey gets tiresome along the way, and we focus only on the struggle of the next step and then the one after that. Don't forget to look up every now and then and see the big picture. The view can be pretty amazing.   

The trees, the trees—towering titans of Fall— lift high their might and wonder to those who search their all. Pray it so that you, my friend, as you go about your day, lift high your head and humble your heart to walk joyfully among their awe.

The seasons know when it's time to change. They fear not for they know it brings forth a beauty that would not otherwise be seen. May it be the same with you.
